Workflow of the Barrel Blast Machine

LOADING: The items to be cleaned or treated are loaded into a bucket or drum. This may include components, parts or objects that require surface preparation, paint removal or cleaning.

Abrasive Media: Abrasive media (such as sand, grit or projectiles) is added to the drum along with the items. The type and size of the abrasive media depends on the desired finish and the material being processed.

Sealed Barrel: The barrel is securely sealed to prevent the abrasive from escaping and to control the blasting process.

Rotation: The barrel begins to move and rotate, causing the contents to tumble. This tumbling action helps ensure that all surfaces are blasted evenly.

Blasting Operation: Compressed air or other propellant is used to push the abrasive media against the surface of the item inside the rotating drum. This process in a rotary drum blasting machine removes contaminants, old coatings, rust or other unwanted materials from the surface.

Dust Removal: A dust removal system is often integrated into the machine to capture and contain the dust and debris generated during the blasting process.
